I put mine on a 10 amp trickle charger for a few hours. I took the battery out by removing the tool box, and unscrewing the plate that holds the battery in. You'll then have to remove the both battery cables; the overflow hose, and slide it out. You may be able to just charge it while it's in the bike, but I wanted to remove the six caps for the cells to breath while the electrolyte was bubbling. I could'nt get these out while the battery is in...so you might as well take it out (check the electrolyte level while you're at it). There's a few posts down on this list describing a mod for the ignition switch that gets rid of this whole parking light ordeal.
